Our Adult Academic Program is structured to help students obtain their Canadian Adult Education Credential(CAEC). The CAEC is a Canadian education credential for those who do not have a high school diploma. The CAEC is recognized by post-secondary institutions and employers.
The Adult Academic Program is for those who are Canadian Citizens or permanent residents who are 18 years of age or older and who:
- May have completed a Modified Grade 12 program but have not completed or received a regular grade 12 diploma.
- Are not currently enrolled in a regular Grade 12 program.
- Have proof of language proficiency at a completed level 5 if you are interested in attending our Regina & Saskatoon locations
- Have proof of language proficiency at a completed level 6 if you are interested in attending our Prince Albert branch
Obtaining your CAEC credential can help adults with:
- New job opportunities
- Retaining current employment.
- Advancing in an existing career.
- Receiving further education and training opportunities.
LDAS offers two different classes – Literacy/ Pre-CAEC and CAEC.
Literacy / Pre-CAEC class:
- Helps students build skills in the English language, CAEC academic skills and computer literacy.
- Helps students prepare for employment opportunities.
- Helps students begin to understand the structure and content of the CAEC exams.
CAEC class:
- Helps students prepare for the CAEC exams.
- Includes course related skill development in all 5 CAEC test subjects, which include Reading, Writing, Science, Social Studies and Math.
Classes are delivered Monday through Thursday and are in person.
