Our Adult Academic Program is structured to help students obtain their Canadian Adult Education Credential(CAEC). The CAEC is a Canadian education credential for those who do not have a high school diploma.
The Adult Academic Program is for those who are Canadian Citizens or landed immigrants and are:
- Motivated and able attend a full-time academic program
- May have completed a Modified Grade 12 but NOT a Regular Grade 12
- Not currently enrolled in a regular Grade 12 program.
- 18 years of age or over
Obtaining your CAEC credential can help adults with:
- Employment prospects.
- Retaining current employment.
- Advancing in an existing career.
- Receiving further education and training opportunities.
LDAS offers two different classes – Literacy/ Pre-CAEC and CAEC.
Literacy / Pre-CAEC class:
- Helps students build skills in reading, writing, math and computers.
- Helps students prepare for employability
- Helps students begin to understand the structure and content of the CAEC exams.
CAEC class:
- Helps students prepare for the CAEC exams.
- Includes course related skill development in all 5 CAEC test subjects, which include Reading, Writing, Science, Social Studies and Math.
Classes are delivered Monday through Thursday and are in person.
